Why "Day 6 - Identify & deal with potential barriers"?

I love a reward! I hear from lots of women that they like the idea of rewards, but aren't so good at going through with them. So I love it when I hear of other women rewarding themselves for a job well doe - no matter how big or small.


Want to know my (slightly embarassing) favourite right now? Coconut yogurt. Seriously. I have found it to be extremely motivating, because I usually consider it ‘too expensive’ to buy weekly so for me it’s a treat. Knowing that I would be eating coconut yogurt was a huge reason I completed my book tracking goal ASAP.


What can I do today?


Step 1: Brainstorm your rewards


The absolute best reward is knowing that you’ve done what you wanted & when you wanted – that sweet satisfaction can’t be bought. But other rewards are pretty awesome too. Think:

  • How do you want to feel after completing this?

  • What are some of your favourite things?

  • What would feel like a bit of a treat, to signify a job well done?

They don’t have to be things you buy either, they can be time spent with a friend or family member, ticking something off your list, or a sweet/salty treat. Most important is that it's a reward according to and for you.


Step 2: Write it down next to your goal and actually do it


This is important. When you write down a fun reward (hopefully you have some good ideas), and you complete your goal - you must actually go through with rewarding yourself!


Try this for the 1-2 goals you are working on over these 8 days, and hold yourself accountable for going through with the reward.


It's not indulgent, it actually works. Take a moment to enjoy the small wins. It's the small wins that keep us going on the path to our long-term goal.
